Mr. San Diego himself and thanks for the
kind words about the photos, Joe. In fact, I was channeling your "upwards and onwards" slogan and almost used that phrase verbatim for the gallery title - ha! I totally forget sometimes that this thing goes out to the world and it's nice to be reminded.
I guess I'll stop being so mysterious and give a little context to the Rainman-esque photo gallery in the post before. Except for the first two, all of the photos were from a two week trip to Turkey earlier in the summer and I've slacked on posting any others until now because there's over 1900 of them. Thank the heavens above for iPhoto - it can give you the 10,000ft view of all your stuff at once, so you start to see trends in your photography habits that you didn't even know existed. I'm also apparently quite taken by images of food, signage and women's shoes.
Also, there's a few Easter eggs strictly for the low-bandwidth crowd - it loads too fast on broadband for those folks to see it. I've always taken care to optimize my work for dialup, but this is probably the very first time I've made something that's probably cooler on slow connections. When was the last time you heard someone say that?
