Well, at least long enough to have a drink and say something interesting.

It looks like the San Diego community of webloggers has finally gotten its act together enough to plan another little occasion, 1pm this Saturday at the Lamplighter. The illustrious Joe Crawford is moving to LA and it'll probably be my last chance to see him again for a while. Isn't that the way it goes? I've noticed that in the last few years - I don't get off my ass to hang out with people until they're about to leave town, like when Brett left for design school in New York or Michelle left for business school in Berkeley.

The Meetup.org thing has had ups and downs in this town, so who knows if this thing'll be an ongoing thing, which doesn't matter really, since one-time things have their appeal too, like geek dinners by Scoble or the BD4D multimedia events. It's like wine - some things taste better when of a rarer vintage.
