My Last Year Of Twentysomethingness

So I turned 29 today - happy birthday to me! This isn't a big retrospective post, just a little flag in the ground so I don't feel bad about letting the occasion go unsaid. My girlfriend and family tried to celebrate, but the former was too busy taking care of me while I've been sick with a monster stomach flu all week and the latter was sick too, so Yesi was the only one in any kind of mood for it at all. We're all going to have to get together some other time, maybe later this weekend. If my stomach is up to it, maybe some kind of Indian lunch might be cool or even Italian, now that I found out that one type of seafood my girlfriend isn't allergic to is calamari, one of my favorite types of food. Come to think of it, we haven't properly celebrated my mom's bday either, so that's another good reason to go somewhere as family.
My girl and I had a very relaxing day and she did whatever I wanted to do - slept in, did a million loads of laundry, curled up on the couch and watched a film I really missed seeing in the theaters and had totally forgotten about: Ghost In The Shell 2. Yes, of course it was awesome.
I have a lot to be thankful for. It's been an interesting year to say the least and this next one looks like it won't disappoint either, what with all of the career and personal changes that have been gelling together lately. And hey, a public statement: if I ever get my act together enough to calm my life down a bit, I'm finally going to have a little house party I've been promising my friends for quite a while. I live in a great studio in Hillcrest but I haven't really had anyone over since I moved in about six months ago - changed jobs twice, self-employed and working like a dog, yada yada - so it'd be nice to finally invite some friends and have them help celebrate all the great stuff going on. Until then, a virtual toast! Cheers!
