- alperabut (10:46:53 AM): you bought real fur?
- alperabut (10:47:03 AM): omfg, we can't be friends now
- electromute (10:47:06 AM): it's not a fur jacket
- electromute (10:47:09 AM): it just has a collar
- electromute (10:47:16 AM): dude, it was on my honeymoon in italy
- electromute (10:47:19 AM): i'm allowed!!!
- electromute (10:47:26 AM): the collar comes off
- alperabut (10:47:20 AM): hahaha
- alperabut (10:47:26 AM): you *are* a girl
This was kind of unexpected from my technonerd programmer friend Ingrid. Next thing you know, she'll be saying she saved money because it was on sale.
Update: Wow, I was just kidding about the sale thing, but I totally called it, transcript below:
- electromute (11:16:13 AM): oh, btw, it was a totally cheap jacket
- electromute (11:16:20 AM): like $30
- alperabut (11:16:17 AM): ha
- alperabut (11:16:36 AM): I was right, you were going to tell me that it was on sale...
- alperabut (11:16:43 AM): I gotta add that into the post...
You know, after talking it out with Ingrid and looking over the posts above, I realize there's an implication in there that I don't know if I like: that women nerds are somehow less girly and that it's so surprising when they actually are. I'll have to tackle that some other time.
Oh man, I think it's getting worse. There's a lot of that "hey bro" talk up here, very unexpected. A guy at work did stop me cold, however, interrupted me mid-sentence at work walking back from a meeting and said, "did you just call me dude?" like I'd slapped his mother.
I might even be gaining a "hella" in the arsenal, it seems to be sneaking into my IMs, although it makes my stomach hurt a little when I notice.
